I've got a Dell 4700 series, XP Pro o/s,
3.GHz, 160 HD. I want to do some Ram upgrading but I'm not up to date as to decide what brand I should go for. I get online and see several manufacturers (www.newegg.com, etc). Can you guys please give me some advices about any reliable particular brand?
In advance, Thank you very much.

Joshua

how much ram do you currently have? Are you able to determine the brand of memory you have on your pc? Try to get the same brand manufacturer so you won't have any problems. Now as far as memory with one of the lowest prices, check these out. Good Luck.

You don't have a high performance PC, so just go for the cheapest on newegg. RAM hardly ever fails as it has no moving parts. If you do get a bad stick, just RMA it back to newegg.

Good Review Sites:
Got Frag Hardware, this is for more high-end gaming gear but it's a great site:

PC Gamer, another big gaming site (haven't used it myself)
http://www.pcgamer.com/

Anand Tech, they have a bunch of reviews

Tom's Hardware, the most comprehensive review site (IMHO, I use this one the most often)

Kingston, Crucial, Corsair...they are all good brands...look at reviews in different sites to see what people say about them.

Kingston and crucial for dollar versus quality. But there are tons of good deals right now. Try look it up on slicdeals or fatwallet
