Before u just pick someone, think about who has exceptional stage presence, awesome vocal performances on stage and in the studio, and who can connect with all types of audiences, and who has the most power, and soul, and depth in their voices.

And folks, please don't pick aretha franklin because the music industry has hailed her the queen of soul. pick who u want to pick, not what the industry thinks. think about these singers long and hard, and see which one qualifies for the each thing I said above this commentary.

Well, I might say if music industry picked Aretha as their queen then so what? Aretha is powerful vocally, has a strong energy that developes through her songs and she doesn't need to scream all the time to make a song feel great.

Though Whitney is a great singer - no doubt - she hasn't stick to her guns as her vocal power has been heard not only on soul but in pop, dance and even jazz which doesn't make her even believable but instead an industry product that adjust to the market.

Patti, she's wonderful but sometimes, her screams just put you away.... really away.

Aretha is Nº1.

I think its patti. She has the most incomparible voice and stage presence. Yes, Aretha WAS the queen of soul, but look at her now. And I cant even comment on Whitney....Too easy. But Patti still performs despite her diabetes, and shes a spokesperson for diabetes.

I like them all, but I will say the total package is Whitney. She is beautiful, can sing her tail off, and just takes over the stage when she is on it. She is universal and she is loved by everyone. I mean, although over the recent years, she has had her many problems from drugs and her rocky marriage, but I think that she is still great and can make a huge comeback. Once she gets her self back to where she wants to be, people will see all of these great qualities come back out. I think all of them are loved and admired, but I just think Whitney has the most universal and outstanding talent amongst the three.

precise, i ought to declare if track marketplace picked Aretha as their queen then so what? Aretha is useful vocally, has a sturdy ability that developes via way of her songs and she or he would not would desire to scream each and each and each and all the time to make a track sense large. although Whitney is a large singer - little question - she hasn't persist jointly together with her weapons as her vocal ability has been heard now no longer in user-friendly terms on soul yet in pop, dance or according to hazard jazz which does now no longer make her even attainable yet relatively an marketplace product that adjust to the marketplace. Patti, she's staggering yet each each now and then, her screams in user-friendly terms located you away.... extremely away. Aretha is Nº1.

Patti LaBelle has to considered the best with Whitney as a strong second.

I also think a few others could join the ranks, such as:

Stephanie Mills
Gladys Knight
Chaka Khan

Please, don't get me started.

Whitney before the introduction of a certain drug...but to me it is Aretha..she has been there done that and back again...Chain of Fools...R-E-S-P-E-C-T..and many more....All are wonderful artists with powerful voices...but I am stickin' with Ms. Franklin...Patty second, and Whitney third for now..
(heard she is making a comeback)

Hard choice.... but I think Whitney, she has an extremely powerful voice and her stage presence (when she's not on drugs) is extremely graceful, she is able to enchant the crowds like very few singers can
