The more relaxed she is the more likely her body will start to make the movements needed to bring on active labor. I wouldn't get too excited unless she starts to have pains that last at least a minute and they are less than 5 minutes apart. At least that is what they told us in our baby class!

If it's Braxton-Hicks contractions, they've been known to subside by laying down on the left side and drinking a lot of water.
If her contractions are getting closer, stronger, and longer, then they're real contractions.
It's entirely possible for her to be having braxton-hicks contractions during the day and then go into actual labor at night. If it happens, it happens. Best thing for you to do would be to get some sleep. You wouldn't want to be up all night and then have her go into labor when you're running on fumes.

I don't know if it is true, but it does seem that way. I can only guess to say that it happens because your relaxed your body is tired and has slowed down for the day. Activity during the day may slightly start them or otherwise interfere with, or mask the beginning of the labor pains, . Like if you have a charlie horse, or muscle spasm in your leg, that usually happens while your sleeping the cause is probably doing more than normal.

I don't know if this is true or not, but if it is, it would make sense that we spend a lot of energy running around and walking during the day that could possibly push us into labor later that evening? Or maybe its sex for those that are doing that at night.

This is weird behavior for a 36 week pregnancy. She may go into labor earlier than usual women, but it is kinda odd this early. I have one child and going to have second one in 8 weeks. This never happened to me before.

It's not entirely true. i went into labor with my first child at 2 am and had him at 2 pm. then my second i went into labor at 10 am and had her at 9 pm. she can have false labor all day and she can go into early labor and that can last for days. no if you guys have been having sex often that can stimulate contractions too.
