Many years ago, I think it was about 1980, I was flying from Sydney to London. When we stopped at Bahrain, we were not allowed to get off the plane, and were told that 'a' Gulf War had started. We were on this plane all day and all of the night, and were the only plane on the tarmac, which was unusual for such a very busy airport. We were told the airport had been closed to traffic, and we saw dozens of men with machine guns out of the windows. Very distressing! Anyway at approx 3am the sky lit up, just like the sun was coming up, very beautiful. A couple of hours later we were told extra fuel had been put into the plane and we would be flying a different course across over Egypt and then up over Greece..hence the extra fuel. A couple of hours into the flight it was announced that we had flown around the war zone, and that the massive light was one of the oil refineries going up after being bombed.
I still remember the brilliant sky, the more than brilliant service our aussie airline staff did under the circumstances...and it still amazes me that this area still has massive problems all these years later.

Miami is among typically the most popular holiday spots and with hotelbye you will find out more. Miami has anything for all; from the stylish nightlife of South Beach, bejeweled by the attention chocolate of the Art Deco section as much as the bustle of Calle Ocho and the very caffeinated power of Small Havana. The Art Deco District delivers straight back memories of an earlier amount of time in Florida with its beautifully repaired 1930s Art Deco structures and is just a place well visited exactly like Bayside Marketplace. This place is really a big outside type mall with more than 150 specialty and tourist shops, numerous restaurants and restaurants, and day-to-day stay entertainment.

I almost missed a flight out of Miami to Chicago because of an item (a Scarface picture underglass w/ a fake gun, cigars, and money) that I couldn't get thru security. I had asked several women at the Check In counter if I needed to check it with my luggage and they said I could carry it on. Unfortunately for me, they were all wrong. I had to run to another airline, 4 terminals down, to give the item to my best friend to check since she was leaving on a later flight. Then I had to run back over 4 terminals, thru security, thru the airport, and make it from Gate 1 to Gate 23 in five minutes. I was running so fast, O.J. couldn't have kept up ! By the time I got there, the plane had boarded and the door was shut. The ONLY reason I ended up on the plane was because the lady at the gate was the same ditz who had originally told me I could take the illegal item on the plane. She ran me down to the plane and insisted that they let me on the flight. I was so tired, and out of breath, that I just sat in my seat and instantly fell asleep.

The 1st time I flew we had to start off on a very tiny plane & I was in the front seat. I almost wet my pants when it took off! I grabbed my husband & my barf bag! I said it's going straight up in the air! he said, yea! what did you think it would do? I thought it kinda lifted straight up like a helicopter. ha!ha! He laughed so hard! Then we missed our connecting flight to where we were going & had to sit in the airport for about 6 hrs. Not the best first flying experience :(

i used to be petrified of flying (and "apprehensive"). i bypass to Florida each and every 300 and sixty 5 days via airplane, i've got long previous to England and Canada plus Chicago. it relatively is approximately 20 airplane journeys so i've got had my share of injuries. the suitable time replaced into going to England. that they had large foodstuff and television for each man or woman. Plus toothbrushes and blankets and socks. yet i've got additionally had relatively undesirable turbulance on a thank you to Florida as quickly as. Even the flight attendents had to sit down down. Plus, on modern flights they have misplaced my bags. don't be afraid! you're three times greater possibly to get right into a automobile accident then a airplane accident.

I have only made one round trip on an airplane...First trip wasn't bad but coming home first we had a rain delay. Had to sit on the plane and wait. Then because of the storm we had bad turbulence. I thought I was going to pass out. Arrived at the first airport late and had to run to catch our plane only to be left sitting on it for an hour while they fixed a tire. Also the exiting terminal wouldn't open and finally they gave up and we had to be pushed to another gate. Haven't been on a plane since...LOL

Well one time while flying over the Grand Canyon in a twin otter we hit some very severe turbulance and the plane was ALL OVER the place! Everyone on the plane started screaming hysterical bloody murder and it really hurt my ears. I for one, and my mom for two found it hysterically hilarious and were ROTF laughing our arses off. When we landed everyone on the plane looked at us like we were weird. I didn't care, I knew that we were in very little danger if any. I just wish I would of had ear plugs cause all the screaming really did hurt my ears...

The worst for me was turbulence along with missing a flight by minutes, and having to wait five hours for the next flight. For my hubby, it was being stranded in New York on his first trip to the states. The airlines told him the next flight would be in 12 hours/next day/overnight. He called me, I called the airlines, gave them the situation and insisted they page him. He called me from the gate desk which was processing his ticket to board IMMEDIATELY! I was hot! He was nervous! The airlines was embarrassed!
The BEST experience I ever had was a short flight from L.A. to Vegas. While the female attendant announced instructions for a safe flight, the male attendant at her side, performed the instructions with his body and hands while imitating ELVIS complete with ELVIS sideburns and glasses! It was too funny!

The first and only time I flew was in a small 4 seater and I was in the back seat, we were flying over the coast of long beach and then all of a sudden the door popped open, it was like I was in a wind tunnel. it about scared the crapp out of me. So I would have to say it was bad.

Some crazed Puerto Rican woman grabbing my arm in the middle of the flight, then crying and hyperventilating. The flight attendants had to bring her oxygen.
She was pretty hot though so I kind of enjoyed it.
