The main danger with nausea and vomiting is dehydration; unfortunately drinking liquids will often trigger more vomiting. For the occasional/mild bout, try sipping room-temperature liquids slowly, and if you eat anything, you should try low-residue foods, like a saltine cracker. Lying on your left side with your head higher than your stomach should help; this position allows the stomach more room and comfort. Mint tic tacs may help. A dose of antacid may help, but don't drink soda pop before or soon after taking this. Check for fever, pregnancy, and/or constipation as contributing factors. If nausea/vomiting persists, and especially if it is severe, accompanied by fever, or causing dehydration, call your doctor.

Pepto might work. However, if your friend has the Norwalk virus, I don't think anything is going to help. My next door neighbor, a nurse, had it last week so that means that it is going around again. If you think this might be a virus or she continues to vomit for more than a day, you need to get her to the doctor or the emergency room.
You need to make sure that your friend stays hydrated. Try to get him/her to drink some peppermint herbal tea. Or just get him/her to drink water.
My Mom always used to give us room temperature ginger ale or Coke.
Good luck to your friend. I hope he/she feels better soon!

Get Ginger tablets. They are available everywhere in the vitamin and mineral department. Take 1 or 2 tablets when nauseated. These work fast and really give you relief! Hope she gets well soon!

You can try giving saltine crackers and ginger ale. Your best bet is for her to get checked out to make sure they don't have a virus that is causing this. Also keep drinking clear liquids to keep from dehydration.

Method:
Smash a piece of ginger
Add water and bring to boil for 10 minutes
Cool it and sip it.
It works for me so I hope it helps your friend.
