As President Jimmy Carter acknowledged: "Penalties against drug use should not be more damaging to an individual than the use of the drug itself. Nowhere is this more clear than in the laws against the possession of marijuana in private for personal use."

If it could be regulated why not. Alcohol is legal (and by the way i don't smoke) and it brings out anger in many people. All i usually see with weed is people really doing not much of anything. However if it was legal you should not be allowed to drive when you are high like you can't when you are drunk. However if it did become legal i know a few people who would be out of business.

Absolutley, it "grows" on this earth for a reason, if it were legal, everybody would be happy, and not want to go over seas to fight a war, for what?
Or it could be put here for the normal people to be able to co-habitate with bi-polar people who won't take their medicine. I don't mean that as a put down on anyone, but seriously it helps tune out the drama.

I think it should be decriminalized it will leave the police much more time to deal with drugs like crystal meth and ecstasy which are destroying our youth.
Just go to the nightclubs the kids aren't smoking pot it is to easy to detect but they should always have some kind of drug education starting with alcohol which causes probably more problems than marijuana.

Legalizing marijuana is one of the dumbest ideas touted here. It would only lead to legalized cocaine and heroin. The rate of death in traffic accidents would increase and the crime rate will go up.
There is a reason why marijuana is against the law and it has nothing to do with taxes, but everything to do with public safety.

I've worked with many people who smoked weed and they all seemed to do their jobs ok.
If we do legalize pot, we should use some of the tax revenue to fund drug treatment centers, and we should make sure all the known risks of pot smoking are well publicized.

one thing about this nation if you legalize one, then you got loopholes for all these meth dealers that are intentionally killing our sociatiy.Irealize there are medical benifits and to legalize it for medical use maybe. But until this nation takes a stand against the meth terrorist inside our own borders.they cant legalize anything
