You must spend your money for the best brand.

As I know HP and Dell are the best in laptops for a long time and they are very reliable too. I trusted HP and I bought a HP laptop 2 years before, and still like the day I bought it. Didn't even have to service it at least once up to now.

I recommend you to buy a HP (with experience) or Dell laptop.

On www.hp.com you can even customize your laptop. And also you can check the price.

BEST Falcoln northwest, XPS, alienware or voodoo. Best VALUE, Dell followed by hp compaq and toshiba. You can buy as much or as little storage as you want. The larger the siz the more files you can store, but the less reliable the hd will be and the more you will lose when it fails

If you can wait, price wars will occur in July, hold off until then unless you need it now

Mac Books are amazing. They're my favorite. The entire hospital I work at is based off of Macs. I have an Imac and a Macbook Pro and they by far out number a Windows machine. They allow you to do far more with everything. Plus no viruses or spyware etc. They are built solid.

Dell Inspiron 1501 or 1505. A great all round laptop at a reasonable price. You can build it as you order. My daughter and I both have a 1501 and we love them.

I have a Dell which is quite nice. They're pretty affordable and I haven't had too many problems with it over the past two years i've had it. Whenever I have had a problem though, they're very quick to fix it. When my AC adapter stopped working, the next day they sent me a new one for free.

toshiba makes a good line of lap tops for general/school type use. they're fairly priced and come loaded. alienware makes higher end laptops, they're more expensive but they'll do anything you'd want them to do.
