Only as much as he can eat in about 2-3 minutes. If you see left overs after that time remove them and feed a bit less the next feeding.

I once read that a Betta's stomach is only as big as it's eyeball so it doesn't require a large amount of food. Feed it about 2-3 bloodworms, OR brine shrimp OR pellets per feeding once or twice a day. Your best bet is to follow the directions that come with whatever food you choose to feed them. Do not feed them like you would other fish. The rule "feed what your fish will eat in 5 minutes or until it stops eating" does not apply to Bettas as they will overeat. They should be fed every day but skipping a day or so is not going to kill them. It takes them about 14 days to starve to death so don't worry if you can't be there to feed them every day.

I agree with pojoe12..betta fish only need a few pellets or blood worms to be sufficient..and it does a Betta good to skip a feeding once or twice a week..overfeeding your Betta will do so much harm and its also a lot harder to keep his home clean with all the decaying leftover food..it also changes the pH of the water which could cause your Betta to get very sick

I was told to look at the fishes eye and give them the size of his eye and remember his belly isn't very big. And you can feed them a couple times a day.

They don't need much food, and it's good to skip one per week. I generally say only as much as their eyeball.
