Well one thing's for sure, it has nothing to do with Astronomy or Outer Space. Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of out-of-body experiences (OBEs) achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming, deep meditation, or the use of psychotropics. People who say they experience astral projection often say that their consciousness or soul has transferred (or copied) into an astral body (or "double"), which moves in tandem with the physical body in a "parallel world" known as the astral plane. The concept of astral projection has been around for thousands of years, dating back to ancient China.[citation needed] It is currently often associated with the New Age movement.

Astral projection/travel is a type of out-of-body experience (OBE) in which the astral body leaves its other six bodies and journeys far and wide to anywhere in the universe. The notion that we have seven bodies (one for each of the seven planes of reality) is a teaching of theosophist Madame Blavatsky.
Ofcourse, it has no evidence whatsoever to support it's claims.

The astral plane is generally believed to intersect or be congruent with the plane on which we live.
It is an "other" plane, housing pretty much everything. It is theoretically possible to travel across time and space instantly in this area since it is seperate from our own reality (it removes you from the time line).
It is a limit less plane that has huge masses of shapeable ether.
Or it is a potential other world. A second layer between heaven and hell, like earth's plane. if you believe in that

It's the idea that you can travel outside your body. You can't. It's bullshit.
