Definitely! Even though I never notice myself going down in the winter, in the spring I do feel myself becoming more buoyant. There is a diagnosable illness called Seasonal Affective Disorder. The change of light causes people to become more depressed as the light lessens, and to become happier when the light increases. Some researchers believe that this is a remnant from long ago when we only had the reptilian brain (hypothalamus.) Whether it is or not, there is a kind of light that people diagnose with SAD can sit in front of for a few hours a day and eliminate the effects.
