For some, it takes a month or longer to get in to see their regular doctor. I work in an ER....sometimes, it's so much quicker to go to the ER than make an appt with a dr, wait to that day, go and then wait forever to be seen, etc.

i have a friend that does that i think shes an idiot and just wants attention. she'll have a problem on wednesday but wait til friday night to have it taken care of so she has to go to the ER. it annoys me because her problems cant even be taken care of in the ER because its dental problems. i never go to the ER ya sit there for 12 hours, and then ya get a huge bill for it.... id rather drop dead

1. Most Americans are uninsured.
2. How do you know it's 'little'?? I have gone for what appeared to be a 'little' problem, and ended up hospitalized for 2 weeks. My cousin just went because of strong cramping, and the doctors there found out she has a tumor on her ovary.
3. Sometimes it's quicker.

Because they hope they can get free med treatment. I personally don't go to the ER, because I don't want to wait 10 hrs.

clincs are closed, they are poor, they think it's something bigger than what it actually is, they don't understand that ER's should be used for emergencies, they called in and asked a receptionist if their problems should be an ER issue and should they come and the receptionist said sure.
