It might just need to be pulled down. OR you might have had it tured off. Choose View toolbars. Malware and browser redirectors are famous for turning this off. Watch out for AOell bar, AOell browser, Yahoo browser (Yahoo toolbar is OK, but not great for ie7), hotbar, and others.

RIght click where the bar should be on the browser and the option should be there

right click the menu bar....(the bar where u can find file,edit etc.) then press adress bar. :D
