NO! dont downgrade it. if u bought the laptop with vista then do not downgrade it.
Vista is a good OS . its just that right now it hasnt been over 6 months from its release and u have to give microsoft some time to fix the bugs and bring out updates. Many ppl are just being stereotype and listening to others saying "VISTA SUCKS!!" and "Vista is no good " etc etc. but they dont even know what theyre talking about. they just repeat what they hear from others........
anyways vista is a good OS and u have to give it some time to fix all the bugs and glitches in it. within the next 3-4 months that should be fine becuz microsoft will be constantly bringing out updates. and tthink of it......why would a company make a new OS if the older one was better than the new one??
windows XP also had bugs in it at first u know....thats y SP 1 and SP 2 were released to fix those bugs. so i say stick with vista and give it some time because its pointless to downgrade to XP now and then 4 months from now reformat ur whole hard drive and go bak to vista wen it becomes popular......wont make any sense .
also.....think of it this way.....by the time other ppl are just starting to use vista and experience it.....by that time u will already know the OS from the bak of ur head so u wont need to adjust to the changes.and ull have more knowledge about it than others by that time.
anyways hope i helped :-]
i know i wrote too much but i hope it helped u
cheers

Don't downgrade until you are sure that the programs that you want installed on your computer are incompatible with Vista. Right now, some programs are still incompatible with Vista, but these companies are making newer versions of their software that will be compatible with Vista.

The only downside to downgrading to XP is the time involved with installing and setting up the OS. However, XP as it is now is pretty stable and pretty versatile, moreso than Vista.

If you are happy with Vista and all the programs that you want are running on Vista, then you probably don’t need to downgrade. All I would install is an additional firewall, since the Windows Vista firewall is pathetic. Microsoft is still patching Vista and I think a service pack is planned for a late Q3 2007 release, but I am not sure.

Don't do it. Vista's bugs are being ironed out. It is a lot of work and you will encounter a lot of problems if you downgrade to XP.

vista has too many glitches. no downs. SWITCH TO XP. maybe in a few-several years they'll finally fix up vista, if not, xp will work just fine.

Depends on the aps youre running on your computer and how good your notebook is. If you have meager resources, XP is better. If you have aps that require XP, it is better. If youre going forwar, application and firmware compatibility is getting better every week. I'm looking forward to SP1
