I was actually being serious and not trying to hate. I honestly can't think of anyone who benefits from giving good speeches better than our president. After him I think politicians who want to get certain laws or bills passed would probably also have to be able to give speeches well.

So if you can tell me why college students need it and the president doesn't then I'll be happy. It just doesn't make sense to me but maybe there's something I'm missing. So if you can give me an example of when I'll need to be able to speak in public well but the president doesn't have to then I'll rest my case. Until then I can't think of anybody who needs to speak publically well more than the president especially the one of the united states.

If President Bush was a member of a different party he would be a media darling and thus pundits would NOT come on after every speech discussing any flaws in the speech.
------------being a great orator windbag does NOT make a good president......

I'm sure the president had to give speeches in college. He has speech writers for crying out loud. Speeches are important and the president is able to speak in public. So you're question doesn't make much sense. Which is probably why you took flack.

Often times the speeches are given impromptu and within minutes of being informed that they are giving a speech...It is not entirely the president's fault...given that they are in front of the entire country regardless of who they are it is still a task for anyone to speak that quickly in front of that amount of people...I agree there should often times be fewer mistakes, but could you do it? Even with a high school or college class? I highly doubt it.

Well i guess GW got more votes than anyone else for president so he is entitled to trip over his words as much as he likes. Second, many college students are required to make good speeches in order to graduate. Finally, I don't guess you have to speak in public if you choose not to. It all may not be fair, but its the truth. I do agree that speaking in public is not one of President Bush's strong points.

Many people need to speak well publicly. Lawyers, business people who give presentations, doctors and the President of the United States. Our current President happens to not do so well speaking publicly, so what? He obviously does it better than Al Gore or John Kerry.

Because your question didn't make any sense, the logic you provide didn't make coherent sense, and the people who answered were probably upset at the loss of those moments of their life when they could have been doing anything else but reading it.

George W. Bush is one of the worst orators this country has ever seen. He can't form a complete sentence. He stammers, stutters, uses incorrect grammar, and is unable to think on his feet when speaking publicly. He is of obvious little intelligence, and couldn't survive without his handlers who tell him how to act and what to say. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a secret implant so that his 'people' can 'talk' to him and prompt him whenever he's incapable of answering a question. -RKO- 05/25/07

If you can't see good reason to take public speaking, then don't take it. Good grief! Drop out of college. Continue to be an idiot.

Maybe the length of your questions make them mad. I'd have more ideas, but I stopped reading your question because it looked like a book or something.

I can't agree with you more. One would think that he would have the opportunity to PRACTICE the speeches that have been written for him by his writers. Is he dyslexic? (sp? lol). I can hardly watch him and sometimes wonder if it isn't SNL instead of our leader!!!
