he played in a time of dead balls and made the ballet in years of the steroids. he was like 3 or 4 member of the 30/30 club, and lead for homers at least once, but his number are compared to big mac, and bonds and they fall way short, had he finished that last year with the Rockies he would have gotten the last 2 and might be in, but still a lot of big names have either come on the ballets after him and hurt his chances. If he gets in it will be thru the hall fame committee.
the Braves under Torre had two really good years, and he was the leader of the team, but they didn't get far into the post season, which hurts him.
He was also quite and just played the game, no hoopla, partying, has lived a quite life outside of baseball so he often goes unnoticed.
I am a Life long Braves fan, and Murph was my fav player, (Aaron was before I really got into baseball as a kid)

He probably should, and probably will not. Certainly his Hall ballot returns have been discouraging.
Very good player, would look good in bronze, but the Hall is not suffering for his absence.
Hall voting
year - votes - %
1999 96 19.32
2000 116 23.25
2001 93 18.06
2002 70 14.83
2003 58 11.69
2004 43 8.50
2005 54 10.46
2006 56 10.77
2007 50 9.17
That's not a good-looking trend, and he's only got six writers' ballots left. Those hoping for the "the roiders were so outrageous they'll make the 80s guys look better" effect had best start hoping a lot harder for Murf.

Although Murphy had several very good years and has some good stats, the Hall of Fame is reserved only for the great. Like many have said, he put up good numbers in an era before statistics were inflated due to weak pitching, steriods, etc. However, there were others during this era that were even better. They are in the Hall. Murphy is not and probably never will be because he was not great during his entire career.

If he had hit just 2 more homers he would already be there.I think Dale was not only a good player he was also a very good person for baseball.

Doubtful. For a good 5-7 year period he was arguably one of the best players in the game. But his skills eroded fast at the end of his career, hurting his overall career numbers.
