Pot smokers please answer!?

I found some mary jane growing out in my woods... how do i know if its the real deal or just something like ragweed.

I'm not a pot smoker any more. But I have years of previous experience smoking it, and I grew a bunch of it in my day.

Short of smoking it, there's no easy way to distinguish whether the plant you've found is "good" weed. Here's a rule of thumb: If hemp/marijuana grows wild in your state, the plant you've found probably doesn't produce much THC. Even if it is "good" weed, it needs to be a female plant; males don't produce enough THC to be worth your consideration. The odds of it's being female are 50/50.

The fact that it's growing in the woods makes me question the "wild weed" theory. The wild stuff is opportunistic. It most often grows where it grows best: in open fields with plenty of sunshine.

If hemp/marijuana isn't a common weed in your state, next question: Is there a path (or suggestion of a path) leading to the plant? If so, it's probably the real deal that someone planted and is tending. Watch out. You could get hurt (or busted) if they catch you examining their patch.

If none of the above provides you a direction, take a picture of the plant. Compare it with pictures on any number of websites. You'll have your answer fairly readily.

Pick a few leaves rub them between your fingers and smell the leaves, they should smell sort of like wild thyme or regular thyme, a herby smell.

the plant should have five narrow looking leaves on it.if your that curious let it grow it should start producing buds later in the summer,they will be sticky.

its probably just another kind of hemp plant. i thought i found a plant before too, but it was just michigan hemp, no thc

dont smoke it instead just sell it which will give you the money for the real $hit ;)
