For someone of average intelligence and will pass Algebra 1, how hard is Geometry? I've heard it is pretty challenging.

Actually, I liked geometry. If you passed Algebra I, I think you'll be fine.

Algebra 1 is much more simple than Geometry in my opinion. I am a sophomore almost finished with a geometry class, and My suggestion for you is to memorize the theorems, postulates etc. or else you will fail, because proofs are a major part of geometry. Also, memorize the formulas for area, volume, surface area, etc. It is similar to Algebra 1 because when you do the formulas, it's simple plug and chug. Good Luck, and Hope you have a good teacher.

Geometry is a part of mathematics concerned with questions of size, shape, and relative position of figures and with properties of space. Geometry is one of the oldest sciences. This means Geometry is a huge field, containing many types of Algebra. If Algebra isn't that tuff for you, that Geomery shouldn't be that diffucult. However, new techniques such as TAN, COSIGN, SIN, are learned. Much of it branchs of Algebra though.

Oh, it doesn't sound like you'll have a problem with it! I loved geometry and I heard the same horror stories going into it. In fact, I remember hearing the same horror stories from older students about every new level of study. Pay attention, ask questions, and if you're having trouble, seek out our help. We're more than willing!

I found geometry easier than Algebra when I was in high school. I think everyone is different.

Good luck!

It really depends on the person, but one of the teachers I had told me that a person who is poor at one is often good at the other. Try getting hold of your textbook early to see how much of it you can learn on your own, or try some geometry tests online. That should give you a prretty good idea.

Its basically following formulas. Very easy!!!
Ex: They'll give you a problem like find the area of a triangle whose base is 2in and height is 4in.
Answer: Formula of area of a triangle is (1/2)bh
so you do (1/2)*2*4=4in squared.

Its that simple. But algebra II is harder though. ;(
