Provera to help bring your period ? Did it work? How long did it take for your period to come? Did you get pregnant? How long did it take you to concieve? Thanks.

I used Provera in the past to bring on a period but it took Clomid to get pregnant with my daughter.

No provera here. A couple of months on the pill to shrink the cysts that were large and causing pain, and then metformin, which restored menstrual cycles and brought back ovulation. Still not pregnant, but I'm ovulating, and that's the first step (we're dealing with male factor fertility issues as well, and that's the likely culprit at this point.)

Most people who do a course of provera have a period within about ten days of stopping the medication.

If you're trying to concieve, you may want to see an endocrinologist or reproductive endocrinologist. Often they're more well prepared to treat and manage PCOS.

Soulcysters.com has a lot of great PCOS information.

Yes, I have PCOS and have used Provera several times in the past. It always brought on a withdrawl bleed for me, so I guess it did work. After the last tablet my period always comes in 3 days but anywhere from 2-14 days is still considered normal. Provera does NOT induce ovulation and therefore will not increase your chances of getting pregnant. If you don't ovulate on your own the Provera isn't going to help with that. And since you aren't having periods then you aren't ovulating. No, didn't get pregnant. Still working on conceiving--3yrs since my first dose of provera. You will need to use another drug to induce ovulation--typically Clomid is the first choice for most people.

provera only makes you bleed, this is very different from a regular period which is brought on by your own hormones. in pcos, your hormones dont work correctly, the provera is to make you bleed so you dont develop cancer in your uterus. the bleeding is NOT a period, provera does NOT cure pcos, and it does NOT help you get pregnant at all
