Yeah, I didn't even attend the last ceremony because I was so bored by the others. Long, hot (or cold), way to many people I don't know, and listening to all of their names. I'll probably walk to get my Phd, but only because I need the hood for future ceremonies.
Good stories? My grandfather got cold during my sister's high school graduation ceremony and got up and closed the doors to the gym - and locked the entire graduating class out in the rain. Pretty funny. If you were inside.

I didn't even go to my high school graduation; when I heard it wasn't mandatory to attend the ceremony and that I could just pick it up at the office, I jumped at that chance. However I missed seeing a buddy moon the audience. Now, I'm halfway through college and I suspect I won't be attending the commencement either.
Anyway, you can show up just before they announce the grads, skip the ceremony, or attend a graduation party instead.

They are pretty boring unless you or someone you know are in them. When I got my bachelor's degree, myself and others that were sitting on the front row found ourselves laughing at the people coming down the aisles beside us because they were forgetting what to do. It probably would not have been funny if the ceremony itself was not boring.

Not really. Graduations are boring except when your friend or sibling goes up the rest is just boring. One time a girl dropped her phone and kept on walking some guy picked it up and kept it. And another girl was wearing really high high hills and she fell down the steps

I think that all graduations are boring EXCEPT whe you are the person graduating. Then you should feel all proud and stuff. :) Just be a good friend, try to remember that she's feeling happy, and don't do anything to diminish it! There will probably be some kind of celebration afterwards, right...? Try to focus onlooking forward to that!

I'm sorry to say, they are really boring.
I havent graduated yet but i remember my older sisters grad and it was so boring i fell asleep.
Her school was huge so doing the whole communion thing at church and handing out certificates took forever.
But think about it, how many years of school have you gone through, a couple hours isnt as bad as 12-16 years of school.

Amen, to that, sister...
Maybe they could break it up into smaller groups and have mini-graduations...
So they're not so long and boring...
Weddings, too...
1 hour tops at weddings...
1/2 preferred...

I think the only people it's not boring for is the actual graduate, their parents and maybe grandparents.
