Sooner or later doesn't EVERYONE stop smoking?

People like to tell other people what to do & how to live. If someone wants to smoke let them, that's their problem and not mine.

Yes eventually everyone quits but for most smokers it is because they die. Others are worried about other people smoking because of second hand smoke. I used to smoke so I don't agree with all of the laws, but I do agree that you should not be able to smoke in restaurants especially if there are little kids there. I do agree that non-smokers shouldn't have to breath in smoke, but I don't think that the gov't should be able to tell you not to smoke outside.

Uhm technically you're right: they'll stop smoking when they die.
I'm not sure about your situation, but in my case everyone got on me because they were worried about my health. If your situation is anything similar to mine, then the people around you are worried because they don't want to see you (or whoever the smoker is) hurt yourself, because they love/care about you. (aawwweee!)

Yes some do...I know a few in their 90's and they still smoke.

Depends on the closeness of the person. I may say something if I am close to them and worried about declining health or something. If not, its none of my business so I'm not going to torture them unless they are blowing smoke in my face.

I don't want to preach, but if a smoker has ever watched somebody they love die from lung cancer, they would want to stop. Watching someone have severe panic attacks because they can't catch there breath is awful!!

I don't worry about the ones who are smoking - usually that means I've already annihilated them.

if they had to start pulling their own weight and, pay the taxes that We do, they would leave us alone. drinking affects the health of others also but, I don't see any states clamoring to require a non drinkers permit, to get a drivers license.

i'm concerened about getting second hand smoke. plus i worry about the lives of others who could get cancer from smoking
