I like theier chances they are in a division that is up for grabs. They stole a solid reciever from a division rival in Seattle's former wideout Darrell Jackson. They got a defensive cornerstone in free agency in corner Nate Clements. They have good young talent in Gore and Alex Smith. I say they beat the Seahawks, who are aging, Alexander's reaching 30, they down times for a back. I think they make a big improvement from 7-9 and go 10-6 and win that division.

8-8, miss out on a wild card. I don't think the 49ers picking up Darrell Jackson will be a good move. In his seasons with Seattle he was consistently hurt, and dropped passes like Hasselbeck was throwing greased cannonballs(but he did get nuch better the few games he did play in 2006-2007). I don't think they're quite ready for the playoffs, yet. They will do well against the NFC West divisional opponents, though.

7-9 miss the playoffs. They play a hard set of games. They have proven they can win consistantly (2-0 against Seattle 0-2 against Arizona?) and have taken the Redskins approach by throwing money at people and hoping they can win. I like the steps Nolan has taken but I just dont see this team they have being as good as people expect just yet.

The Niners will finish in LAST PLACE in the NFC West.

1) Arizona, 2) St. Louis, 3) Seattle, 4) San Francisco

Hope you are right, but I think a 7-9 or 8-8 is more realistic......

8-8 at best. Mike Nolan is NOT the messiah, he's just an average coach.
