One of my friends (she is an okay friend to me) wants me to go to the movies with her and A LOT of people that i know, but aren't very good friends with. I said i could go, she was happy b/c i turned her down on all the other things she wanted to do. I wanted to invite one of my friends so i wouldn't feel so left out. I was pretty sure she could go. She can't go. And i don't know if i should go or not. Please help me!

You have nothing to loose in going but making a friend happy you said you would go w/her. You said there are others going & you even know them. What's to say you go & find you really have a good time after all. Hey, at least you could just enjoy the movie & forget the rest of the people if they're that bad to be with. I think if you go w/an open mind & make it up that regardless of anything else, the movie w/be enjoyable. You'll also make a friend happy too. Go, have fun!

Just go. You don't wanna let the girl down coz thats mean, and as you've said you've turned her down on all the other things she wanted to do. Its only a movie, and if its a terrible experience, you'll deal with it and move on. On the other hand, you may get to know this girl better, and find you like spending time with her. Good luck!

Whether the third person can go or not is immaterial (and it was not your place to invite her). You already made a commitment to go. Now you follow through and keep your word. You didn't accept based on whether the third person was coming or not, did you? I hope not. That would be very rude.

I would tell my friend the truth, that I feel uncomfortable going with the others that I don't know so well. Let her read what you wrote here, you said it very well.

Well unless you have something BETTER and more FUN to do instead of the movies, I realllllly think you should go...I doubt it'll be as awkward as you think.
