linlyons...you are also an idiot. It is not that illegals would all of a sudden speak the language. It is because I am sick of my tax dollars going to write everything in 2 languages. I am sick of my tax dollars paying for services to illegal aliens...PLUS HAVING A BI-LINGUAL EMPLOYEE TO DISH THESE BENEFITS OUT!

Inhofe is pro-English right. Well, I'm glad that 15 senators are doing the right thing, and being Democrat and seeing that they are Republican, gives me so much hope for the possibility of our representatives getting the message we are sending. While I'm glad for this, I'm so sorry that someone like Harry Reid, Democrat representative, is not voting for this because he is afraid it will hamper his attempt to pass a bill to legalize the illegals entering our country. I'm sorry that this man is a Democrat and thinks this is what we democrats want, as we are the ones paying for illegals crossing our borders and have the most to lose by allowing them to become legal, without doing the correct thing and entering legally. Democrats lose, and H. Reid, is the leader and advocate to push for this to go thru. What kind of drugs are they giving to our Government officials and representatives that they have lost touch with the party they are supposed to represent?? Don't lump Democrats in with these people, I'm of the mind that the guys representing us have parted ways with the needs and wants of the party they state they are representing, long ago. They have taken off in thier own direction without a guide to tell them they chose the wrong path or party.

Many countries have an official language. I agree that we really need to have English as our official language also. While it may be fine to help those who can't speak English by offering a choice, it would be very beneficial to have them realize that they are expected to learn it if they are going to remain in this country.

Just the fact that you have to push a button to say which language you want to speak says much about how many immigrants are actually in this country. I would say many more than the government would like us to believe.
