That is emobdied on the law and order of a country to put that way.Do not question the government but study the functions of the government where you are staying, so with the laws of other countries.Soon you will enter the government service and turned to be the President in one couintry, then you will understand it.

For one thing the CSA created that flag to honor their fallen as a previous answer stated. The Civil War was not as most think about slavery. Lincoln made that a major issue with the Emmancipation Proclomation. He felt that by freeing the slaves he could hurt the economy of the CSA. The war was about who had the power, the states or the federal government. My family fought to keep the country that their forefothers had spilled blood to build together. I am a Yankee that has absolutely no problem with the Stars and Bars.

Let me set things strieght The Confederate flag is actually the Battle flag it was designed to honor those who fought and died and to those who fought and lived during the civil war many southern fighting groups did't have uniforms and all the southern fighting forces carried it to id themselfs as figher not bandits some where along the way this was lost

I agree that the Civil War was a terrible thing, and am glad that we are now all one nation.
However, that doesn't mean that people from the South don't want to recall their histories and roots.
I know that many people are highly offended when they see a Confederate flag, etc.--I for one (from the North) don't think that it should be taken so seriously. It's not any different than people who are descendants from other continents having remembrances from their homeland.

its dumb the people from the south didn't come from a magical southern country where they used the flag so it is not their roots. it was a battle flag used for 5 years against the united states in rebellion, and i guess the descendants of the children born within those five years can claim it as their roots but its kind of ridiculous.

Well you are correct alot of folk down here do fly them and drive them in their trucks etc. I would have to disagree with the guy who said they are racist though, true alot of them are but they claim it is heritage not hate that compels them to worship the X flag. I personally fly the American flag outside my home.

The Confederate Flag was the south's old governments flag back in the day. So either it's heritage or they agree with slavery. Or they think it means their a rebel (but their idiots cuz that has nothing to do with the flag)

First, it's definitely not "every where you go down south", secondly, did you not know that the South was at one time referred to as the Confederacy? Or are you in college, where American History is no longer taught?

People in the south (US) are a proud people. Some older southerners even think the South won the Civil War.
Most have the flag up because they are racist, though.

It is part of their heritage and tradition . Should we be upset about blacks displaying their red, black, and green flags?
