I know whales and larger fish of that type make sounds, but I was thinking of fish like the common gold fish or beta fish

Well, I keep several fish that "talk." My raphael catfish makes clicking noises by rubbing his spines together. My bumblebee catfish croaks a little when he's irritated by the other fish. I also keep several tiger botias who click a LOT. I don't know if it's a form of communication or what, but when they all get going, it's pretty noisy!!

Sometimes fishes are very uicke in diff. ways. If a fish hears a sound sometimes thay want to say something back. It is called eko location. Mostly big fishes can, but samll fishes can make noise too but the sound is way to samll for us to hear.

The tropical raphael catfish, wich you can get at pet stores, is also known as the talking cat fish because sometimes they make grunting noises, especially, when you get them in nets.

Some do. I've caught catfish and brown trout that made a croaking type sound when out of the water.

Sure. Many catfish grunt or croak, clown loaches are said to make a clicking noise and then there are croaking gourami to to site a few examples.

cat fish and bottom feeders tend to make noise, when big fish eat hard food u can hear the crunching.....

shark noise affects them constantly.....? Take your fish to a large shark tank....with many sharks in the tank.... Climb in with your fish and before long, you will hear the sharks pretty much constantly

Raphael Catfishes seem to "click" when you take them out of the water.

yes i had a puffer fish and he would grind his teeth together to comnicate with other puffers. it took me forever to figure out where the sound was comming from.

Depends on the kind of fish..

I don't think goldfish do, though.. =D

They just make funny faces..
