Yes, not being able to detect the virus is exactly what person who made the virus wanted to happen so you can not fix your computer. That is the reason why most Anti-Virus software uses heuristics to find new unknown viruses and malicious software. If you have a virus, it might be malicious software.

Yes not every virus is gonna be detected but u can detect most of them but even with a virus finder program it scans almost every location but doesnt always detect it.

Yes. Get trend micro. It always scans ALL the viruses. It found 28 on my new laptop. Nortron said it had none, but Trend Micro got rid of the 28, and 200+ adware, 400+ spyware. Google it.

sure. virus scanners only look for virus that are known. If the virus hasn';t been seen anywhere yet, then the virus scanner won't know to look for it...
