You will need iTunes to load music to your ipod. iTunes is a free download. :)

Like the first answer said, you need iTunes.

HOW TO SYNC YOUR IPOD:
Your ipod came with a cable that has two rectangle things on the ends, right? The skinnier rectangle needs to be put into your computer. It should be plugged into the front of the big rectangular prism that you put CDs in. There will be a little symbol that looks kinda like an anchor and says "USB 2.0" on it.The bigger rectangle goes into your ipod. It will say "syncing ipod, do not disconnect" on the top of iTunes and on your iPod.

IF IT DOES NOT SAY THAT, then you put your ipod on "manually manage music". Under Devices, click on your ipod. Uncheck the box that says "manually manage music" and choose the box that says automatically sync.

Songs you buy from iTunes show up under called Purchased AND under Music.
