My Great Uncle Henry died storming the beaches of Normandy. My Uncle Hershel fought in the Korean war. My Father served TWO tours in Vietnam. He earned many medals including two Purple Hearts. Do I stand? Do I put my hand over my heart? You better believe, I do.
The flag represents every person who has fought to defend her. I will ALWAYS show my respect.

First you better understand what Flag you are standing for.
If it the red, white, blue and gold. No I do not stand. It is not the Flag of the United States of America. It is the flag of the corporation of the United States.
If it is the Red, White and Blue then yes because this is the Flag of the United States of America.
If you go into a Court you can request the flag with the gold trim to be remove because by excepting that flag you will be judged by the corporation not the constitutional law.

Absolutely; I always stand at attention for the Colors. Partly just for respect in general, but mostly out of respect for all the men and women in arms who've sacrificed so much to defend what the Colors represent.
Remember: "All gave some, but some gave all!"
