There is no reason anyone should have nuclear weapons, but if we don't disarm, and our allies won't disarm, then we cannot demand our enemies to do it. And yes, you CAN go to Iran and have a rational conversation with them about it! They are not idiots, and Ahmadinejad making a statement about wiping Israel off the map is MUCH less welcome in his country than Bush calling Iran part of the Axis of Evil! Even the mullahs admonished him for that... he is not popular with the clerics right now. They believe that all the political crap is distracting the Iranian people from true Islam... problem is, most Americans buy any propoganda they read or hear on the news, without reading any truly unbiased, scholarly works... Iran is not the monster that people think it is.

Well, this topic has been debated so many times.
One of the reasons, why Israel has nuclear weapons is because U.S.A a.k.a President Bush is giving money and arms (like these nuclear weapons) to the Israeilis to fight agaisnt Palestine and other Palestine supporting countries.
Another reason is because Iran threatens people too much, their president is always saying that they will throw Israel of the map and make it Palestine again and that they might throw U.S.A off the map too. This can worry a whole lot of people. Israel just wants to be left alone, to defend their country from Palesinian attacks.

point taken. this not a suject explored so much. also it is a bit of a double standard that has also been applied to North Korea. the media reports Kim ILjong is a Dicatator and much has been made about the nuclear weapons in North Korea. well why are they there to keep the U,S.A. out that is why it has been proven nothing else will. also when will the media and those silly politicians wise up to the fact the global warming is more important than political disputes get with North Korea on this issue. and no no matter what is said i do not beleive this attitude to North Korea has any thing to do with whoever is in charge but the system it is under a system designed for people in which i have the impression of it is not possible to have a Dicatator as everyone is in charge

I have less problem with Iran having nuclear weapons than I do with BUSH having them (or Israel, for that matter. Israel has the most dyfunctional government on the face of the earth.)
I agree that it's a double standard. It's unfortunate that ANY nations have nuclear weapons capability, but apparently it's ok if you're an "ally" of the U.S.

Because Israel has faced holocaust and would never put that kind of horror upon another nation. Iran is a country run by fanatics. Fanatics will do anything to anyone that has an opposing view to theirs. If you're feeling so bad for Iran and the Islamic psychos go over there and introduce yourself and try to help them. See where it gets you. Israel may be messed up also, but another person hit it on the head,"they just want to be left alone."

I say we let Iran have nukes just to show all of you what would happen! Why is it so hard to support Israel but more important the U.S. I swear to God I read some of these comments from Americans about how messed up the U.S. is and how persecuted they feel Iran is. Or Iraq, or Afghanistan. These people are religious zealots and think nothing of committing the most heinous acts of butchery against other human beings who oppose them. They have no regard for human rights or equality for women or mercy for the sick and poor. What is wrong with some of you people? Fukcing wake up!

Because Iran has told the world that they want to "kill all the Jews and Americans" and "wipe Israel off the map."
The only thing I have ever heard Israel say is that they want to be left alone.
Now you tell me who sounds like they deserve nuclear weapons and who doesn't?

Israel has shown great restraint in dealing with the Arabs. Iran, by its support of terrorists, has shown little in the way of trust or restraint. Would you trust a nut case like Khoumani with a nuclear weapon?

No. because (Iran has often stated they are intent on murdering each and every citizen of Israel and wiping Israel off the map. That's call threat to mass murder. Sounds Hitler-like, no? Do you know that is the West Bank, the Palestinians' favorite book and best seller is Mein Kampf by Hitler... it's a fact,.
