women, if you want to get anything accomplished. Men, if you want to coast placidly along and always have cash in the bank.

That's like saying "would you rather be shot or drowned, either way you're going to die". There is no good choice. In a good relationship, there should be no one "totally in charge".
To be "totally in charge" means that one person is in control, implying the other has no choice, but to follow. Why not equals in a relationship? Why not partners rather than Master/Mistress and Slave? Why not two people willing to talk, compromise, and work together for the betterment of both?

I don't think you can call it a relationship if one person is totally in charge. A relationship is a special bond between two people, not one person bossing the other around all the time.

Realistically, both should be equal partners. Though in the "real world" there are instances where one partner is stronger than the other. He may be better at handling money and she may be better at dealing with the kids. He may like doing inside chores while she likes being outside doing the yard. It depends on the relationship and the people in the relationship.

They should take turns being in charge of different areas. And if one ends up being in charge all the time, hopefully they at least listen to their partner's input, otherwise it's not a very healthy relationship.

There is no one person who should be in charge of a relationship. A man and woman both have their respective places in a relationship.

Well first off, no one should be in charge. Relationships only work when there is a mututal respect for one another and when both parties are completely able to communicate their ideas, thoughts, and emotions. It's not truly a relationship based on love and respect if one person is running the show.. that's pretty selfish.

Youre going to get a lot of answers to this one for sure. I dont think any one answer is correct. It will just happen that one partner will take somewhat control in important matters that will effect both partners. The only thing you can do is make sure if you disagree that you voice your opinion civally. But I dont really think that either sex "should" take control fully.

There should be no one in charge.
If there was someone in charge it would make it a father daugher or mother son relationship and thats not what you want.
Both people should respect each other and discuss things together. Both should be equal!!
