But I'm rich. Usually, my house is totally Christmassy. Heck, i won an award for best house in my neighborhood. I payed 50 bucks for a giant snowman to put on my Chimney...and another 60 to hire a guy in a Santa suit to greet the kids and hand out Hersheys Kisses!!!

While "celebrating" Christmas is an important event for a family, a car lasts longer and does more good in the end. And, to be honest, how exactly do all the trimmings like the ones you mention, make Christmas more meaningful? Last year, our family had a small tree that we decorated with decorations passed down from our families and that was all. And we had a wonderful time together as a family. It wasn't because we didn't have the money... I just think it is a huge waste and that Christmas has been so overcommercialized that it has lost the true meaning.

There's no rule that says you have to celebrate Christmas. You don't have to spend huge amounts of money on the decorations and gifts.

If you need the money for something else, then by all means, spend it on the things you actually need rather than on the non-essentials.

However, if you've already purchased decoration in years past, you can always just take those out again instead of buying new ones.

it is an exciting thank you to place it. a great sort of persons take their spoil day in the time of Christmas to flow on holidays, however. maximum folk do no longer call it "skipping" Christmas... they would not be celebrating like they did while they have been little young ones, even if it extremely is a trip non-the-much less. relatively "skipping" Christmas could be to no longer take any days off paintings or perhaps do time beyond regulation even in the time of the finished Christmas season. (In that experience, I "skipped" Thanksgiving) i do no longer see how occurring trip for Christmas is skipping Christmas.

Totally acceptable. Two years ago my boss told me on Dec. 9th that I needed to look for a new job. My husband and I were freaking out. We just politely explained to everyone that we were not doing Christmas for financial reasons. Everyone was really cool about it. We used it as a chance to spend quality time together instead. If you have goals, go for it!

You could waste money buying presents or buy suppiles (cheap) and make presents and just do without all the extreme christmas spirit. lights and a plastic Santa will probably do. Just make sure it isn't missing any parts.

If you went over the top last year maybe you could make an exception this year. It isn't nessary to have christmas. Or do something little.

start making Christmas gift and decorations this year. start now it will allow plenty of time.
you could also try to get your family and friends to draw names instead of buying gifts for everyone. as a gift you might offer your services of babysitting, cleaning house or just cooking a nice meal or someone for them instead of buying a gift.

Since I don't believe in "Christmas". I've never celebrated in my entire life... and believe me, I've put my money to good use.

You don't need all those things to celebrate christmas. Just spend it worshiping Jesus.
