You could try scanning from safety.live.com, but the chances of finding a GOOD free virus scanner is slim to none. You can use the scanner on safety.live.com as many times as you'd like, the more the better! Cleans everything up. I'm not a pusher of Microsoft stuff... especially virus protection, but I did really like how well it caught some of the stuff my computer was doing without my knowledge. The best bet is something like NOD32 or AVG, please, I beg you, stay away from Norton and McAfee!

I like Active Virus Shield. A lot. Active Virus Shield is made by Kaspersky which is one of top-rated anti-virus vendors in the world.

In recent tests, the most popular free anti-virus, AVG, was only able to detect about 82% of a very large sample of viruses. On the other hand, Active Virus Shield was able to detect better than 99% in the same test.
Full test chart is here:
http://www.virus.gr/english/fullxml/default.asp?id=82&mnu=82

Active Virus Shield has excellent virus detection rates and is extremely light on using your computer resources. (6mb ram)

Active Virus Shield detects and removes spyware, also.

And it updates up to 15 times a DAY with new virus definitions, 7 days a week!

Good stuff, free for everyone from:

i might want to apply avast! loose. AVG loose is likewise sturdy, yet avast! is asserted to be more advantageous helpful in some strategies. also use the loose version of Malwarebytes. And save both as a lot as date a minimum of once per week. do no longer installation more advantageous than one anti-virus application as this may reason issues. Malwarebytes isn't a "actual" anti-virus application, it really is a malware application, and works properly with maximum anti-virus classes.

Go to CNet .com and download either AVG free edition or the one I use which is avast home edition. Both are about as good as you can get for free versions.

I would suggest download AVG for your virus protection

And then for spyware protection download these, you should have between 2-3 spyware protections.
