When you were a child, did you ever run away from home?

Yup. When I was 10 I ran away from my mom's house in Arizona. My mom didn't even know because she worked 2 jobs and was never home. She was working the night shift at her 2nd job when I ran away. I called my father in another state and asked him to come and pick me up because I wanted to live with him. He flew out and got me the next morning and my mom didn't even realize it until my school called her that day to say that I didn't show up.

I felt bad later on but the truth was that my mom wasn't much equipped to take care of a child. She left me home by myself day and night. I had to get myself to school, get myself home, make all my own meals, clean the house, take the city bus when neccessary - the whole shebang. When it got dark I had to barricade myself inside our little one bedroom rental house until my mom got home at like 2 in the morning. That's a lot for a small child to do and after a few years I just got tired of it. These days a parent would probably be arrested for leaving a child home alone that many hours. That was about 20 years ago now.

Yes I did try to run away from home once when I was a kid because my mom and dad was always fighting. I got a few blocks from our house and got bite by a dog so I went back home. I guess I wasn't meant to run away.

Yes, me and my best friend ran away when we were around 12 or 13. We both had good homes but we got caught skipping school and we knew that we were going to 'get it' when we got home, so we ran away. It was fun and the funny part is that our parents were so worried that when we did finally come home they were so happy to see that we were ok that they didn't even mention the skipping school.

Hahaha, i did one time. I was about 7 years old. Our driveway was about a quarter mile long. I ran away with a towel and a laundry basket. I said I was gonna sleep in it. I made it to the end of the driveway and realized I was gonna be hungry, so I turned around and went home.

I threatened too, when I was 4 yrs Old ! My Mother said I was mad about something, and packed a paper bag with a few things in it........When I stood at The door, everyone saying good-by, I turned and said to my Mother " May I PLease Have Some Bread and Butter To Go? Everyone got a Big Laugh out of that, and of course, My Mad spell left immediately. ( I Never tried that Again.)

Haha oh this brings returned recollections! i became as quickly as 4 years historical, lived in a dairy farm. I packed a bag of Lollies, Rice bubbles, a towel and Teddy. I climbed over our substantial fence, and suddenly met the bush. have been given scared being with the help of myself in the bush after approximately 5 minutes and then went returned place of abode haha

Ye! I got to about 10 steps from our front door when my Mom who had been watching would say" Are you going to leave us when we are having backed macaroni and cheese and
home made apple pie with ice cream?" I would run back in and postpone my plans for another time.

Once when I was about 8 I put my teddies in a suitcase and ran out of the house in a mood. I got about 10 steps away when my mum came out and yelled "GET RIGHT BACK HERE NOW!". About the only time she ever shouted at me and it put the fear of God into me... I turned straight back and ran back to my bedroom.

My mom told me that when I was very young I tried to run away but they found me sitting on the corner crying. When asked why I was crying I supposedly said "Because I'm not allowed to cross the street."
