Can being caught up in your own day to day life be dangerous to the future of your day to day life?

It is your responsibility to get informed and be involved in your state and local government. Please don't let pessimism and a busy lifestyle prevent you from having an active roll in your community.

My freedom enables me to "Step out" of the mundane day to day life or to enlighten me to the beauty in the "joy" of life experienced daily.

Well, I don't want pessimism to keep me from doing things, but sometimes it's called realism, not pessimism.

I had some 'fun' last winter asking my parents what they thought the odds were of another war happening in western Europe or north America within the next 50 years. They told me 0%. People are nuts...

I think the govt is too ****** up to bother with (plus, I can only vote for the Dutch govt, and I'm not planning on going back there so what do I care?), so I'm currently sticking with plan B... www.backwoodshome.com Who cares what the rest of the world does as long as you're far enough away from it all?

Freedom and individual liberties are what this great country is made up of. Not your primetime TV shows or whatever. Though, personally in my opinion it's seeing a serious downfall. People have forgotten what the USA stands for. People don't even know the first 3 words of the Constitution let alone any of the amendments. Those are the building blocks of our now taken for granted freedom.

Do you really believe that those CCTV cameras on the freeway are for traffic reports? We're being psychologically conditioned to accept anything new without ever questioning it. I don't like what's going on now, but I do know that a well informed citizen knows what's around the corner if people don't start waking up and preparing for the worst.

Someone above said "Civic involvement is a concept created by the ruling class to appease the disgruntled, but accomplishes little. "
This is usually true but it's important to remember that Civil unrest and civil movements are the cause of almost all major change, not governments. When things get bad enough it's up to the people to stand up and make a change not just ask for it.

Nothing is more important to me than our freedom. I am a veteran of the Gulf War and believe that people today really don't even think about how lucky and blessed we are to live in this free country. We should all be aware and involved in what's going on in our local, state and national governments.

No. The two/three are tied together. Even the times when I cannot seem to fit them in, somehow I always find a common ground for them. And when I can't, it's always "Freedom" that Leads up at the front. Check 360 degrees for ejptheonly you will see what I mean.

I'm not agree with how u raise the question. We all are dependent of smth, including work and entertainment, family, all our environment. In modern life we merely cannot be fully free. One might be free working, it depends on if he enjoys his job or not, and so on.

Well, I think we should enjoy life to the extreme, but you're right, it is important to be involved because the future will affect us since we're going to be living in this.

For me, my work and entertainment are the same. That is the key to happiness....If you love what you do for a living and for joy....You will never have to work a day for the rest of your life!
Find that special something for yourself and best of wishes!
