They do come out about every 17 yrs. but it depends on what part of the country you are in. For example, if you lived where i am in the mid-atlantic they came out last about three years ago. I heard that they are coming out in the mid-west this summer.

They are coming out now, but they will emerg when the temperature reaches 65 degrees. add another 10 degrees then they start moving around, it appears that the Chicago area and surrounding areas are the target areas this year.
