So many wrong or incomplete answers.
Here's the scoop.
Although the entire train is going the same speed, the front and the back do not go over the same part of the track at the exact same speed, nor does a rider experience the same forces at any particular point during the ride.
For the first hill, the back of the train is generally going the fastest because by then, there's the least friction on the train slowing it down. You're coming off of the chain lift (or other mechanism) and now you can "go." The front part of the car gets to pull the back part of the train down. The front part of the train was slowed down because the back part was still attached to the chain or whatever was moving the car up the hill.
After that point, then the front is generally going faster since the train continues to lose a little speed as the friction of the track slows the coaster down nominally.
So whether you're at the top of a hill or bottom of a drop, the front is slightly faster.
However, you sometimes get more of a "whiplash" force in the back due to the train moving and "snapping" the back car if that makes sense. Thus, as the car turns, or goes from going down a hill and pulls up, you get more of a whipping action in the back.
So, long story short, other than the first hill, the front is generally the fastest (nominally), but the back has more "whipping" action.
Hope that helps!

The part of the roller coaster that gets you going the fastest is the first hill. The favorite is the front of the roller coaster.

At the fastest point on a ride (usually the bottom of the first drop) the entire train is moving at the same top speed. Some say (including me) that the back feels faster because the entire weight of the train is already going down the hill and it kinda "slings" you up.

all of the cars go the same speed as they are linked together.
I personally like the back seats as you get the whip over the first big hill. The front just hangs there while the back is coming over.
The front is cool because you can see, but the back is the best place to lose your stomach!

All of the cars are hooked together so thay all go the same speed, but the very first seat is the scariest.
