There was a time when you could come up with a figure that would assure financial stability for ones future. The world has changed in the past 6 years. The Stock Market, which was once a stable place to put ones savings has become the only legal crap shoot in America. I see what inflation has done to our money every time I go food shopping. It is not going to get much better over the next indeterminate number of years. Someone is going to have to pay back the 9 trillion dollar debt which the war in Iraq has cost the USA>

impossible to say.

money is such a stupid thing.

if inflation went ballistic......£1,000 000 could be worth no more than the value of a stamp.

i wonder if there are secret agencies producing more money than anyone knows about.......there is so much debt and spending that money has become ridiculous.

i like the film "28 days" for this observation!

if the world were full of flesh eating monsters......a sack full of money won't do you any good!

i anticipate chaos and anarchy before long.......so my answer is £0.

SURVIVAL OF THE STRONGEST!!! (NOT RICHEST)

One million. I'd keep working but I could pay off my debts, buy a home, and have a retirement. That's all I need.

It depends on how old you are don't you think, right now 500,000 would be fine as I already have assets from a lifetime of working.
