ANIMANIACS!!
If you ever get a chance to see the Animaniacs, you'll see that a lot of the jokes require a maturity and knowledge of older pop culture than the average 5th grader has... "Adult humor" at it's best!
For example... There was a story about Anvilania's national anthem. (Apparently, it was so slow and boring that the army fell asleep, leaving the world leader in anvil manufacturing vulnerable to invasion.)..... But little kids aren't going to get the funniness of Perry Como's rendition unless they've been exposed to Perry's style, which usually requires that one be over the age of 35.
BRAVESTAR
K- I know that one was only on for a year or two, but... "Strenghta the Bear, Speeda the Puma..." funnier when a 7-year-old says it...
Edit-
Just saw someone answer, Thundercats- Oh, yeah!!!!

I think I had lots of favorites, really! I even remember I knew the schedule for every week, and for every tv station, at least for the channels that were on my tv at that time (like 7 or something like that haha).
Anyways, my favorites were the ones from Disney (the really old shorts from Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Chip and Dale, etc.), Tom&Jerry, the cartoons from Tex Avery, Transformers, The Robinsons, Mazinger Z, Woody Woodpecker, Andy Panda, The Jetsons, Thundercats, Spider-Man (the ones were Ice Man and Fire Star appeared), Dennis the menace, He-man, She-ra, The Smurfs, Bravestar, Samurai Pizza Cats, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Bugs, Daffy, etc., Silver Hawks, Bionic 6, Care Bears, Rescue Rangers, Ducktales, Shirt Tales, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ewoks, Monchichis, The Snorks, Ghostbusters AND The Real Ghostbusters, Superfriends, Pac-Man, Die Biene Maja (Maja the Bee), Saint Seiya, Count Duckula, Popeye, Dungeons and Dragons... This aren't just cartoons I used to watch, this were MY FAVORITES!!! The ones I wouldn't miss for anything. Because I remember watching some others but I just didn't like them. I could name a lot more, but I don't know their name in english (I'm from Mexico, so...), and I also remember watching many japanese shows with puppets, but can't remember their names. Oh yeah! The Muppets Show AND The Muppet Babies were awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also remember some toons that my grandpa used to show us on vhs, ones that he used to record while going to the US, but I don't remember their names, and those were really cool, I'd like to see 'em again. I remember one about a lady who had like 20 kids or something, and they all lived in a boot, it was hilarious!!! I also remember many cartoons where Santa Claus appeared (most of this cartoons were really really old), lots of babies, etc. They were awesome, if someone knows where can I watch them (mostly the names of those toons) it'd be great!
Thanks for making me remember one of the best parts of my childhood! Hahaha
