When their country is behind the murder of civilian population in the other country? Is it justified in keeping neutral and not getting involved with the war?

This is a general question and I want some good answers. Thanks.

My nephew just signed up with the US Military. His Dad died a few years ago, & his Mother has disowned him for joining the military.
So; tell me if he deserves my support & loyalty...as he offers his life to help others live?

Depends on the war. Some wars are justified, like World War 2, in our case . . .
Now, the German population had a choice, either follow Hitler or not to follow him. Many did to their own demise. That would have been the time for them to stand up and say, "NO!"
So, no a person should not always be loyal. Loyalty is a good thing, but not when it is used to help propagate evil.

I am an American, period. I may not agree with the government, but I will not stop being an American.
