The Betta (YOUR FISH??) is Siamese I believe as far as the problem you are probably subject it to shock with too much cleaning!!!

Probably temperature shock but... did you remember to dechlorinate the water before you put the fish back in? Easy mistake to make sometimes. It could also be pH shock if it was more than 3-4 days since you last cleaned the bowl.

Assuming the water has been dechlorinated, the best thing for you to do is cover the bowl to prevent the fish from jumping and keep the bowl in a still quite place and in low lighting to allow it to adjust and de-stress a bit. Any more moving or changing conditions would only make matters worse.

Is there a possiblity that the water that the fish was in before cleaning the bowl was warmer or colder than the water you just put it in? If so you may have put the poor fish in shock.. there are some other possiblities though... the sudden lack of ammonia , nitrites and nitrates that had been in the bowl when it was dirty, (even though they are bad for the fish) the sudden change could have also put your fish in shock... Unless the water is really really cold, or you did not declorinate your water... I would simply wait and see what happens...

Well, my best guess is that your Betta might b confused due to the clean tank, or a change in degrees.

When changing your water, be sure to add water conditioner, also try to get water temp as close to the dirty water temp, bettas like it between 78-82*.
