what is a spanning monitor? and how can i make my computer use it?

my dad works for a contact center and he said that his computer has 2 monitors, he said its called a spanning monitor. i would want to have one of it since we always do home video editing, pls help thanks :-)

You need a graphics card with dual view, most ATI and nVidia supports it, then two monitors, install the drivers and it should sense you hve multi screens and guide you through, I have 2 here, one for work and second also for work like but when work is done, switch to a TV via the TV card.

get another monitor, plug it into the back of ur computer, not rocket science
