The Red Hat Organization is a club of ladies over the age of fifty. They wear red hats and purple and red coats and tops.
They hang out like old lady gang bangers out for a good time only.
Very harmless bunch.

It is a sister hood of women over 50, their daughters under 50 can join the pink hats.
I truly believe that we all need to feel a part of something.
I have that in My Christian Congregation, these women feel this same comradely through this society.
I do not pretend to understand it and I don't need to. I have my congregation. Other people don't have that, so they create the closeness as best as they can.
This sisterhood of women must fill that togetherness void for them.
