when i have a CD or DVD in my drive and it is being ripped or other actions the sound from my computer is very choppy. Is there a way i can fix this.

Yes, set your UDMA on in your IDE section under Control Panel / System / Hardware devices

You may be ripping at too high of speed or your hard drive is old and your plates have ridges. As long as the cd/dvd you ripped comes out fine, I would say do not worry about it. Your computer may just be getting older.
