i will take page numbers also. i just need to find out at what point it happened. also i need to find qouts from it to page numbers will help alot.

I think Edward didn't really "betray" his family. "Betray" is such a strong word for his action. Although he did reveal to Bella their secret, I think "betrayal" isn't the word for that. And there was also a part in the book where Edward narrated that he went to some other place to forget Bella because Bella is too "irresistable" for him. He was just doubting his self-control. I hope this can help you.

He betrayed his family by telling someone outside the family what he is. You learn more about that in Italy in the second book. That is why in Italy Alice has to promise to change Bella. Pax - C

i don't feel like he betrayed his family at all. i think they were just angry at him at first because they didn't want their "perfect" life in forks to be ruined and they knew that bella was irresistable to him. they were only trying to protect him and themselves from a something bad happening. betrayal had nothing to do with it. besides, jacob is the one that told her what they really were.
