Well I don't think they are bad because they lead the MLB right now with a record of 34-15 in there first 49 games. They also have a couple people getting stuff done like David Ortiz hitting with a 1.020 Ops. Kevin youkilis having a .353 batting average. They also are a lot faster than they used to be in fact they used to be called the Led sox, but now people like Julio Lugo have stolen 14 bases. Leading the Al east the Red Sox have a 11 game deficit against the second place Orioles. Another great prospect for the Red sox is Mike Lowell who has 38 runs and 9 HR. Now we will go to piching. Josh Beckett got hurt, but is expected to start soon. He is 7-0 with a 2.66 era, but Daisuke Matsuzaka has an average 8.60 Strikeouts per 9 innings. He also has 64 strikeouts. You see their batting average .277 is third in the American League, and their ops ranks first. They also are ranked 6th in the AL in stolen bases can you believe this. Overall I think that the Red Sox have a great chance of making it to the world series.
