Hey people. I have an HP computer and I've had if for about 6 months. It works ok, but the only problem is that it won't read or play any discs. When you put a computer game into the drive thingy, the green light blinks over and over and then it stops and nothing happens. It used to work and play audio CDs when I first got it, but now it's just a piece of crap. Do I need a new drive?? If so, then how much are they? How do you put it into the computer, do you need a professional-computer-person to do it for you? and does that cost money, too??

There very cheap to buy nowadays and easy to remove and fit.
If you have a laptop it's just a case of removing a tiny screw in the base and pulling the cd drive out.
If it's a standard pc then remove the computers cover and unclip the drive from the housing.

Kath, look under the device manager (under Control panel) and see if the CD drive shows up and is working correctly.
