I want to move to a rural area in Missouri or Arkansas near a river or a lake but am not familiar with names of towns or cities. So how can I organize a search to buy a cabin on some land within a 10-minute drive (or less) to go swimming?

(I am spending hours online and not really getting anything done.)

You need to contact a Realtor in the areas in which you are interested. Those folks know their markets and what is available. Let THEM do the legwork for you.

Let a local real estate agent conduct a search for you as they should have intimate knowledge of properties available. Contact an agent in each area that you think you may like to live. Many of the MLS have features where the agent can e-mail properties to you for you to peruse. Unless you sign a buyer broker agreement, you are not obligated to use this agent to purchase and the seller's will pay the commission so their services are free to you.

We went via Flint on a Sunday evening as quickly as on our thank you to Pontiac to do a Monday seminar. There gave the impression to be a disproportionate sort of police autos cruising Flint (ie, a great sort of them). perhaps they have been there for a reason, and that reason is why the valuables is way less costly. And that became before the motor vehicle companies began having subject concerns.

Google "Table Rock Lake" or "Lake of the Ozarks" or "Lake Taneycomo" for 3 that will get you started. There are many more.
