No it is not windy on the moon for many reasons. First, there is no weather on the moon due to the very thin atmosphere. Also, the moon rotates at a very slow speed, preventing it from having wind or other weather effects.

No, wind is the movement of air and the moon has none.

The moon DOES have gravity, but not enough to hold onto an atmosphere (it is about one-sixth the strength of Earth's gravity on the surface).

The footprints left my the Apollo astronauts will stay there for a *very* long time, although they will eventually fade away due to the moon's constant bombardment by micrometeorites.

Wind as we know it? No.
Solar Wind? Yes.

The moon does have gravity...................

Because the moon has less mass than Earth, the force due to gravity at the lunar surface is only about 1/6 of that on Earth. Thus, a person standing on the moon would feel as if his or her weight had decreased by 5/6. And if that person dropped a rock, the rock would fall to the surface much more slowly than the same rock would fall to Earth.

The moons gravity is not strong enough to hold an atmosphere and so the moon has no gases (air) thus there is no wind at all. In fact, the foot prints of the astronauts will probably still be there preserved. (assuming no meteorites hit near by causing the dust to move and cover them up!)

Nooooooo. How do you think Armstrong's footprint would stay on the surface of the moon if it was windy??

There isn't any atmosphere on the moon.

The only wind affecting the moon is the Solar Wind from the sun. There is no atmosphere, and therefore no air currents (wind).

There is no wind on the moon as there is no atmosphere hence one reason it is called the moon.
Gravity plays a big part in it. No gravity, no weather hence no wind.
No atmosphere, no growth of the most basic of things hence no weather no wind.
You need some sort of organic growth to produce oxygen and without oxygen there is no basic weather structure.
It is basic planetary biology. All comes down to Oxygen.

There is no air on the moon, thus there's no wind.
