There is a reason for that number. It is the number of plays a quarter that he will "take off" because the ball isn't coming to him.

I say WHO CARES!!!! I have played many sports, and played hockey for eleven years. To tell you the truth, most people pick their numbers for personal reasons. For example, I am a goalie in hockey. Goalies are usually numbers 1, 30,31,34,35. Well , I am #44 because I grew up playing defense, and the #4 for Bobby Orr. When I switched to goalie, I wore #44 as I did for a few seasons at defense. All I am trying to say is that you can spend hours analyzing his number, that probably took him all but five minutes to choose. It is not even his official # yet. Either way, Moss is playing for the team on the front of his jersey, not the number on the front and back. He will be a team player, or he will not win a Superbowl with the New England Patriots.

randy isn't wearing #6 yet it's just a number he wore in practice. he does have a thing for the low numbers though and that's a little unorthodox but still, it's just a # and nothing else. it doesn't determine how well he plays.

I think so too. It's so weird that a Wide Receiver chooses a low number. He should have gone with a number like 85 or 88.

Well if NFL lets Moss wear that number then they should let Reggie Bush wear #5.

I have never seen a WR with a # in the single digits. If it happens then whatever, it don't matter what the # is to me.

It is May. The rules prohibit him having that number unless he kicks or is a QB.

He doesn't have an official # yet...He wore #6 in his first practice...That doesn't mean he's wearing it during the season...
