i had placenta previa with my last pregnancy i was scheduled for a c section then on my last week of pregnancy it straitened itself and i had him natural the doctor will probably do more ultrasounds to keep an eye on the baby growth and to schedule c section based on that

The placental attachment doesn't go away, but as your uterus grows, the place it implanted moves up the side of the uterus as the uterus stretches. The placenta doesn't move, but, as that spot on the uterus grows, the placenta goes with it.
I know that sounds obtuse, but if you get a balloon, blow it up half way and put an X on the side of it toward the bottom, then blow the balloon up more, you'll get the idea.
It would be SO much easier if I could draw a picture on here :-{
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy - and remember when that little one gets here - relax and enjoy the sheer joy of loving him or her!!

I was also diagnosed with placenta previa at my 20 week ultrasound. My doctor said 1 out of 3 women are diagnosed with it in early pregnancy. The good news is that early in pregnancy the doctors aren't too worried about it. In fact there is an excellent chance that the placenta will migrate upwards in the uterus to where it should be. My doctor told me that the chances of the previa persisting is only 1-200! He said to not excercise or lift anything over ten pounds so I'm trying to take it easy. I am going for a follow up ultrasound in a couple weeks and hopefully my placenta will have moved upwards a bit. The pain you are having is probably your ligaments stretching BUT if you have any spotting or excessive discharge then I would go to emerg right away. Good Luck!!

My wife had this with or first child about 29 years ago. It caused her some pain. I think some of this may be hereditary as her mother had the same thing. Now her " insides" seemed to have dropped also, like her mothers. This is usually why women end up doing Kleegle exercises ( sp?).
